Assessment Calendar Change
The County of Burlington has made significant changes to the real property tax assessment calendar. What this means to all taxpayers in Burlington County is as follows:
- Tax Assessment Notification Cards (green cards) will be mailed on or before November 15th instead of February 1st.
- Deadline to file tax assessment appeals will now be January 15th instead of April 1st

The Tax Assessor is the place to call if you have a question about the tax assessment on your property. It is also the Office to apply for property tax deductions and exemptions.
There is an exemption for 100% disabled veterans who received the disability due to a war time injury. There is also a Veteran’s deduction which is $250 per year. Senior Citizens over 65 years of age with an income of less than $10,000 not including Social Security Benefits are eligible for a $250 deduction per year.
Deductions
Senior Citizens Annual Property Tax Deduction
Annual deduction of $250.00 from property taxes for homeowners age 65 or older or disabled who have been in their home since October 1st of the pretax year, and whose income is less than $10,000/year, after a permitted exclusion of one of the following:
- Social Security Benefits
- Federal Government Retirement/Disability Pension State, County
- Municipal Government Pension
Veterans Deduction
Annual deduction of $250.00 from property taxes for qualified war veterans and their unmarried surviving spouses who have been in their home as of October 1st of the pretax year.
